May 2017 Newsletter
As the month of May comes to an end, we are very pleased to celebrate our 15th anniversary!
Even though we feel very comfortable with industry and business best practices, we continue learning today. We still attend many, many meetings and conferences and meet colleagues and industry experts to help us make better decisions, provide better service, and information/advice. We are planning for this year, but looking five years ahead for technology trends to assist us and our clients.
It is our plan to continue to develop our practice to better serve as your resource, providing answers and guiding you through some of the life transitions we all face.
Lastly, we are most appreciative and humbled by our clients that have been with us for 15 years or more, and thank all our clients for their trust. We do not take it for granted and continue to work hard on your behalf.

Is Your Financial Advisor Working in Your Best Interest?
Earlier this week Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta confirmed the first phase of the agency's Fiduciary Rule will go live in two weeks. The rule is still under review by the Trump administration.
This new rule inserts an obligation for stockbrokers to give investment advice that is in the best interest of the client. (Yes, for stockbrokers and registered reps this was not a requirement!)
However, this rules only applies to retirement accounts like IRAs and 401 (k)s. To ensure your advisor is working in your best interest on all accounts, please see our blog article here.
Technology News Update
We are pleased to begin the roll-out of our new, updated secure Client Vault! This online vault will enable us to exchange documents in a secure environment.
It will also provide us a platform to post your quarterly reports, performance and billing statements in one convenient location. This has been one of our goals for some time and we are very pleased to begin the roll-out.
Watch for your email invitation!

Financial Planning Association Retreat, Atlanta GA
Jason attended this 3-day conference in Atlanta, GA. This conference is unlike any other financial planning conference. It is a deeply relational event that focuses as much on the art of being an intuitive financial planner as it does the science of best planning practices. This provides us with more insight in dealing with the emotional and behavioral issues of money management. Please see our blog post here.
