Providence Business News Taps Jason Siperstein for "Five Questions"
Providence Business News, one of the region's most widely read publications focusing on business and financial news, recently profiled Eliot Rose's Jason Siperstein. As a chartered financial analyst (CFA) and a certified financial planner (CFP), Jason is one of a handful of individuals in the state to have received both designations. He recently spoke with PBN about his certifications, career, and client relationships.
"Before joining the firm I wanted to gain an outside perspective, which in my view is crucial for anyone thinking about going into a family business," said Jason, Vice President of Wealth Management at Eliot Rose.
After graduating from Emory University in 2007 and working both as a consultant and at an investment bank, Jason realized he wanted to develop more impactful relationships with his clients. Recognizing the long term relationships Eliot Rose has with so many of its clients, and the multitude of services clients were seeking from them, Jason pursued both the CFA and CFP certifications.
"The CFA process gives you a very deep understanding of investments, the bread and butter of Eliot Rose," said Jason. "The CFP provided me with broad, general knowledge of all things financial, including insurance planning, estate planning, investment planning, tax, planning, etc."
Explaining how these certifications have benefited clients, Jason said, "They know we have the experience and talent to create a customized financial plan for them. Instead of making two phone calls or dealing with two teams and two sets of paperwork, now it's just one."

Eliot Rose Steps Up to the Tee to Help Fight Cancer
Eliot Rose's very own Paul McDermott and Jason Siperstein proudly represented the firm at this summer's 10th Annual Comprehensive Cancer Center Golf Tournament. The Comprehensive Cancer Center brings together world-renowned physicians and a team of specialists from Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, and Newport Hospital, to offer complete care for patients who have been diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders.
As a community leader that supports a variety of causes and organizations, Eliot Rose was eager to participate, "The Comprehensive Cancer Center has impacted so many families that are facing cancer and we are proud to have contributed to its cause," explained Paul McDermott, Senior Vice President at Eliot Rose.
Proceeds from the event directly benefit cancer patients' care and comfort. This year's event was held at the Newport National Golf Club in mid-June.
"We are always looking for ways to get involved in the community and when this opportunity came up, it was an easy decision," said Jason, who is also a member of The Miriam Hospital's Board of Governors. "It wasn't the sunniest of days, but we still played golf for a great cause!"
